The Finnish Luxembourgish cinematographer was born and raised in Luxembourg before moving to New York City at the age of 17 where he began his filmmaking studies at the New York Film Academy. Later he moved to Los Angeles to continue his education in cinematography under Tony Richmond ASC, BSC, Suki Medencevic ASC, PSC and Jacek Laskus ASC, PSC.
During his time in the States Anselm pushed the boundaries of his visual storytelling as cinematographer on many productions ranging from music videos and advertisements to short films. Since his return to central Europe at the tail end of 2020, he has not only continued working internationally but has also lensed award winning ad campaigns, Oscar Academy Award qualifying shorts as well as two feature films which are currently still in post-production. His contributions to award winning projects have also been recognized with Best Cinematography awards at various festivals.
Anselm is currently based in Luxembourg embracing exciting local and international opportunities as a cinematographer and is determined to share his knowhow with aspiring filmmakers by the way of organizing workshops with Arri Rental.
